Free back-to-school dental exams
7/23/2015
7/23/2015 (La Porte, IN) - The Indiana University Health La Porte Cental Center will be busy in August with the return of the free school dental exam program for children without dental insurance. The exams meet the requirement of the La Porte Community School Corporation and appointments are required.
Exams are available from:
- 8-10 a.m., August 4, 5, 7 or 8
- 4-6 p.m., August 6 or 13
To make an appointment, call 219.326.1943.
During the exam, a dentist will do a visual exam and create a dental map of the child's teeth and diagnose any decay or problems. Children who need follow-up care may be referred for follow-up appointments at the IU Health La Porte Dental Center or a community dentist who can meet their needs. All children also will receive a free bag of dental-related gifts for participating. The program is made possible by funding from the La Porte Hospital Foundation Dental Fund.
The IU Health La Porte Dental Center provides quality dental care to children and adults with low income and no dental insurance, focusing on educating children on prevention.
