Bariatric Weight Loss Services
Weight loss can be challenging for a variety of reasons. At Northwest Health, the bariatric weight loss team understands. We want to help you lose weight, feel great and reduce your risk for serious medical conditions.
Our bariatric surgery program offers proven solutions and compassionate support when traditional options haven’t worked. We are here to help you enjoy your own life-changing success.
You may be a candidate for a bariatric surgery if you:
- Are between the ages of 18 and 65 (If you're younger or older, your case may be considered)
- Have a body mass index (BMI) of 40 or above
- Have a BMI of 35 or above, and you also suffer from one or more health problems, such as type 2 diabetes or hypertension
- Have a BMI between 30 and 34 and you also have two or more weight-induced chronic conditions
- Struggle with a weight-related condition like hypertension, heart disease or sleep apnea
- Have tried or are currently trying to lose weight through other means such as diet, exercise and behavioral changes with only short term success
- Are psychologically ready for weight loss surgery and willing to commit to a whole new lifestyle
- Do not drink alcohol in excess
Although bariatric surgery has shown to be an effective tool in weight loss, it’s important for patients to remember that the surgery is only one part of the process. A successful outcome is dependent on the patient’s commitment to long-term lifestyle change.
